An Inspirational Journey

The Preludes of Claude Debussy (1910) have always been just out of reach.  Recordings by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli don't help to make them any more reachable.  There are twelve of them in Book 1, each as particular as a picture in Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, or in an impressionist gallery.  During the slow days of April and May, I've been trying to play them.  Each one will be added as it comes to life:  a color illustration below indicates that the recording is available to listen to (click on the painting to hear the recording).  A short introduction to each prelude can be found in the accompanying blog.  A complete set of recordings is at the bottom of this page.
